The plum season looks as if its going to be absolutely brilliant; the Laxtons Early, Victoria, Tsar, Marjorie Seedling and Burbank Giant Prune are all looking fantastic.
This cluster, that look like a bunch of giant grapes are Laxton's Early and with the continued good weather we should be picking them in a couple of weeks. They make fabulous jelly and jam and eaten straight off the tree are just wonderful.
This year I must remember to curb my enthusiasm and not to eat too many whilst I'm picking or the Laxton's Early will simply become Laxative Early.
