Blood red brink

This year the wild poppies seem to have burst into flower much earlier and with even more vigour than they normally do.
The freshly turned earth at the sides of fields, the headlands and some brinks are bathed in red and this first burst of colour will drop so many seeds that we should be pretty well guaranteed an even bigger show next year.
It's a good job we like red but, meanwhile, the show goes on, and on.
