A dull and a very muggy day but after all the sunshine that we've been enjoying it would appear this field of winter sown barley has been taking advantage of the weather and ripening very quickly.
Even though the sunlight value is low because of the thick cloud this crop is an amazing colour but there is a question hanging over the field.
What is going to happen to it? Animal feed? Malting for beer or whisky? I prefer the last option, it's got a bit of romance to it.
Has the sun crossed the yardarm yet?
No, I'll take the dogs for a walk then.
