A Jack Russell and a small boy

The photograph dates from 1947 or maybe 1948 and there he is, the very first Jack Russell I ever knew or came into contact with.
Peter, or 'that bloody dog' as everybody called him, because of his habit of giving everybody's ankles a nip, in this photograph he is with the only person who could handle him and was never nipped by him.
Yes, it's me in the rather fetching dungarees and white sandals trying to force feed him something. Peter, I am sure, is where the love of terriers and Jack Russells in particular came from.
