Yet another piece of of old equipment found in a barn. This time it's not agricultural but an item of ageing gardening equipment manufactured by the wonderfully named Bodger Brothers of Wisbech and March. The Bodger Brothers were obviously nothing to do with the furniture makers in the Buckinghamshire beech woods but were obviously manufacturers of agricultural and gardening necessities, particularly if you wanted a beautiful lawn.
There hasn't been any serious use of the roller for years and years but with a little bit of TLC and some grease on the spindle your personal cricket pitch or lawn could be given the final and perfect stripey touch.
Then there's the colour of the frame, not Norfolk Bog Door Blue but a shade more green and in keeping with the roller's use.
We'll go for Norfolk Bowling Green.
