Once upon a time this Pill Box was bristling with anti-tank weapons and machine guns and manned by the 'highly-trained Home Guard' watching over what must have been a sleepy approach to Fenland in the Second World War.
Now it has a gazebo on top of the concrete roof and the ivy swarming over it probably camouflages the stark concrete construction far more ably than did the camouflage of seventy years ago.
As a contrast to the use it was designed for it could hardly be greater, you could even fish while sipping your drink. How civilised is that?
And the Pill Box itself will keep your beer cool, your tools safe and keep the kids happy as a play area.
Can I have one for Christmas just like this one please?
