What a campanile

Just opposite our favourite Post Office sign is this brilliant freestanding bell tower and church entrance with the church itself a little distance behind. Sadly the bells don't get a good workout anymore because of the condition of the timbers that support them.
It was built about 1250, with the church itself built just a little earlier in the 'new' Gothic style, and you have to be impressed with a gateway like that, what an entrance. Just think of all the people, both dead and alive, who through the centuries have passed through it, a quite amazing thought.
Another West Norfolk gem and now we really must see the inside.
