The last of the summer heat

The very last of the chilli crop looking truly splendid, those colours wouldn't have looked out of place on one of Carmen Miranda's hats.
Clockwise from the top are the last five Hungarian Hot Wax chillies. Then the Poblanos followed by the JalapeƱo and Joe's Long.
The Hot Wax and Joe's Long will go into the the sweet chilli sauce and the JalapeƱos will make more pickle and the balance will be frozen and also used for cooking and making chilli and apple jelly.
The Poblanos are being dehydrated and dried as I write and they will be turned into concentrated chilli powder, lovely. That should add something special to sauces and gravies.
The winter cupboard is slowly filling with flavour filled goodies.
