More hyacinths and more planting

When we went to buy eggs this week we were greeted with a donation of yet more hyacinths for the garden.
This time the total must around six hundred plus a few rogue daffodils so there's going to be a steady morning's planting there. They're past their best and unsaleable but as we said next year they will produce a wonderful display and if we lose a few to the weather or the birds we can't really complain when they come free. It's just another example of the kindness of the people in the West Norfolk Fenland.
I think we need a reverse donation for the farmer just to keep the wheels of industry well oiled. A fruit cake is on the way.
