Rice paper sky

Sunday morning and we've had yet another white frost and as a bonus it's all gone foggy too. As always in Fenland the fog seems to lift a little and the visibility improves then, in almost the blink of an eye, the fog comes rolling back across the landscape the visibility reduces again and the fog is even thicker. Truly horrible driving weather.
The sun is slowly, very slowly, burning the fog off and at the moment we have a full on Japanese rice paper sky with the disc of the sun looking like a paper cut-out. It all looks very moody and atmospheric but it is just another facet of the dawn light.
By nine o'clock the fog had all dissipated and the landscape had returned to normal apart from a slight blue grey haze on the horizon. The early bird not only gets the worm but some lovely weather effects too, it really is worth dragging yourself out of bed and taking in the view.
      Or the lack of it.
