The amphibians are busy

Despite the cold mornings our amphibious friends have been busy flexing their horny claspers in the production of spawn. The chilly weather hasn't deterred them in their amorous activities and football sized clusters of spawn are appearing in the dyke courtesy of all of those frogs and toads, so far though there hasn't been any sign of the newts but no doubt they are down there getting the hormones racing and limbering up for the action in their weedy palaces.
Soon it will be taddy time and there will be black clouds of tadpoles being preyed on by the birds and fish, it really must be hell down there just relax and you are breakfast, lunch, dinner, tea or supper.
