The farmer says that the June drop will thin out the small specimens giving those that remain on the the tree the chance to grow big and juicy, a little example of natural selection fruit tree style.
Unbelievably there are still dried out and wizened examples of last years crop hanging on, after all the gales, rain and frost you wonder just how they manage to do it but there they are right next to this summers fast developing crop. Soaked in a little fresh orange juice they would keep you regular.
Must rush.
