Our London correspondent 'Scouser Roy', found two lovely books while clearing a neighbours house and knowing our interest in type and letterform he sent us two separate and beautifully wrapped little surprise parcels.
One of them was this pocket-sized King Penguin, complete with dust jacket, and it is all about the history of letterform and a classic in its own right. No pun intended.
So now maybe, just maybe, it's time to purchase a pen and start improving ourselves and our handwriting. On the other hand we could start casting covetous eyes over the farmer's geese for some of those huge wing quills or maybe we'll just stick with the reed pens.
Or maybe we'll have a beer and think about it for a little longer.
