Furrows, poplars and reeds

This photograph was taken a couple of weeks ago and obviously before the torrential early June rains had arrived. With a little bit of warmth the potatoes have now burst through the tops of the furrows and the texture and complexion of the field is changing quite rapidly.
These potatoes are for seed and will be used next year so there'll be no crisps, chips or baked spuds coming from this field but maybe the year after they could end up on your table.
The season marches on regardless of people and weather so you could say that all will be revealed in the autumn when the monster harvesting machinery moves onto the land.
