We've been picking the Victoria Plums in the old orchard and the crop is huge, and the plums themselves are huge too, so, a huge crop of huge plums.
The plums that the boss is waiting for, Burbank Giant Prune, will mature in a week or so and then the jam factory will start up with a vengeance. Meanwhile if we get some heavy rain to add more weight to the branches a few of them will be snapping off but, as a plus, at least there aren't many of those insects in black and yellow rugby shirts in evidence. I've had one wasp sting so far in the last few weeks and that is quite enough thank you.
In the meantime it is trying not to be tempted to eat a couple every time we walk past with the two terriers or we'll be going for a run not a walk.
