Going, going almost gone

In the West Norfolk fenland you get big, big skies and when the sun begins to sink down to the horizon you do get some really spectacular light shows. Obviously if there is more cloud around in the heavens there is a lot more colour but the sun setting against an airbrushed sky is just as spectacular in a different and calmer way.
It always surprises me just how much colour is crammed into a clear sky, no doubt meteorologists will have a complicated description and reason for the phenomenon but the sight of it will do me without all of the reasons and technicalities.
Just stand, watch and enjoy. Fantastic.
Mind you I still prefer dawn.
