It's almost spring and that time of year when the gander in a flock of geese is beginning to feel just a little bit frisky, you could say that the sap is rising. If you approach them the noise is just tremendous and then the gander's jealousy sets in and he waddles over to tell you to get away from his ladies. If you don't move you'll get a good beaking and have the bruises to show for it too.
This small flock of geese in a friend's orchard are his 'guard dogs' too and with the noise they make they can even drown out the sound of the two Jack Russell Terriers barking back at them.
Nobody sneaks into this orchard without the guard being turned out and the alarm being sounded.
