Filling in with green

The dykes that criss-cross the farmland are really filling up now, but not with water. The Norfolk Reed and underwater weed is, as they say, burgeoning and the cot is beginning to cover the surface of the water.
The usual pair of ducks are nesting on the edge of the water, well I assume it's the same two, and the reed warblers and sedge warblers are busy scooting around doing their nest building too. Yesterday evening we heard the first cuckoo and this morning while walking the two terriers I saw two of them flying around in the orchard looking for somewhere to apply their squatters rights.
Summer is a coming in and it's coming quite rapidly.
