It's the first Monday of the month again so here's another map from the series of linocut maps featured in a book produced by Caught by the River and called, appropriately enough, 'Caught by the river, A COLLECTION OF WORDS ON WATER'. I'm sure that the hardback edition is now out of print but a little internet work would probably find a secondhand copy and provide hours of quality reading about rivers, angling, water and people.
This particular map was used to illustrate a chapter written by Irvine Welsh that was all about the River Forth and the town of Leith, the chapter was titled 'The Black River' and it is a brilliant read, one of the best in the book in my opinion.
I must get a pass out your way from work. Meagre pickings that way of late.
