The last week of June and a foray into deepest Cambridgeshire, me driving and the boss up in the turret. Pity about the rain though. Anyway, we stopped and parked up in a small Fenland town right opposite this little gem, The Great Whyte Baptist Chapel. Did a Mr Whyte build the original and the rebuild too on an even greater scale? We'll have to look into that but as memorials go it's not a bad edifice, not a bad plaque either.
No doubt in these politically correct multicultural times you wouldn't be able to call it a 'Great Whyte Baptist Chapel'.
Good on the Victorians, there's nothing like a powerful statement.
