It's a lovely day

A view across the West Norfolk Fenland on a glorious Friday in August but to be accurate the view is across an area known as Black Ditch Level and that is a really great name for a tract of land. Perhaps there were dark deeds done there in the distant past, however the tract of land got its name it all sounds rather gothic.
The alternate bands of purple flowers were what attracted us to the view and out of the car the silence was deafening, all the fighter jets must have been getting washed and polished for the Bank Holiday weekend.
Getting back to the purple flowers maybe they are some kind of game cover crop providing cover and food for the pheasants and partridges, the only solution to that question is ask the farmer.
