A winter evening

Late afternoon moving into early evening and the weather forecast got it absolutely right, equally the old saying of 'red sky in the morning sailor's warning' was right on the money too.
The morning dawned frosty and cold with hardly a breath of wind and a troubled and colourful red sky but by early afternoon the wind had risen and was driving rain horizontally across the fen, bending the poplars and ripping holes in the rain clouds as the sun was setting. All very 'fen gothic' and all very spectacular.
Never mind, the weather can hurl what it wants at us, the wood burner is blazing and warming the Jack Russell Terrier's paws, the hatches are battened down with the rain splashing across the windows.
Time for a bottle of Abbot Ale I think and feet up in front of the fire.
