A pair of perfectly formed pairs

Freezing cold weather, the fire blazing away in the wood burner and the smell of sourdough bread baking is filling the house, what's not to like about that environment? This is the fifth attempt at making sourdough bread and it seems to be getting better in appearance, taste and texture plus I'm getting the loaves more evenly sized under the watchful eye of the boss.
Toasted with butter, honey and a fresh coffee it's absolutely delicious but the boss prefers marmalade. Very tasty dry fried with bacon and egg too. Now that I think of it I must try a slice with a pint of Abbot, that'll be yet another project to complete.
The sourdough bread pictured above was in fact baked last weekend here's the latest 'bake-off' with two even more beautifully formed loaves. The drains are frozen over so there's no pike fishing, let's bake then.
