Fire dogs

After a long walk in the mud, the cold and the wet where's the best place to be after a rough towelling-down? It's pretty obvious really, near the woodturner to dry out, smell like a drying sheep and generally limber up for a good doze and maybe a full-on sleep.
I don't know why but the capacity for relaxation in any of the Jack Russell Terriers we've lived with has always surprised me. Their ability to switch off, change their breathing pattern and go into a deep sleep within minutes of lying down is quite astounding. It must be something to with security, a full stomach, a good walk and the heat of the fire.
I'd just need to add an Abbot Ale or a Leffe to that list and I think it would work for me too.
