It's amazing really, this time last year the farmers were praying for rain, we'd had so little the ground was dry and cracking-up before the spring wheat could even break through the surface. This year it is the complete opposite. Rain, rain and yet more rain and inevitably the ground is saturated, there's plenty of standing water and there is no wind to dry the fields.
Even the normally upstanding daffodils that are planted along the banks of the river right through the village all look a bit hang-dog and fed-up with the perpetually grey and very wet weather conditions.
Maybe tomorrow will bring blue skies and sunshine, but on the other hand maybe not.
