Shop early for Christmas

      We were out and about in Suffolk the other day, me driving and the Boss back in the turret again, when we discovered a reclaim yard full of treasures. The place was like an Aladdin's Cave if you are into things old and reclaimed: metalwork, statuary, stone, timber building materials, doors, stained glass in fact so much material you would need to start another blog to simply list it all.
      We bought an old church ventilator, as you do, not quite as big as the one in the ventilator blues post but a fine bit of Victorian wrought ironwork, and also a couple of old-fashioned screw-down bottle openers for Christmas presents for the kids. We purchased a vintage toilet roll holder for us, well we know how to live, but more on those in another blog post.
