Here's one of the 'Mexican Hats' that our farmer friend and neighbour gave the boss to use as a flower planter in the back garden, now it looks like one of Carmen Miranda's more fanciful and colourful hat creations. Perhaps we need to add some fruit to the final ensemble but once the orchard is in full production with apples, pears and plums that shouldn't be a problem.
Because the growing medium isn't that deep, probably six to eight inches, it has to be kept well watered but the eclectic selection of geraniums that have been planted have grown beautifully. They've got a good way to grow as well so the display should just keep on improving.
The bees love it too.
Beautiful my friend.....now for some of those plums.
ReplyDeleteI love planting in reclaimed and scrapped items, real recycling. The heat continues with a vengeance, even the farmers are wondering when it will break.
