Will it, won't it?

Well as it turned out it didn't. Thursday afternoon and I was sitting out in the back garden scraping some new potatoes when the rumble of distant thunder reached my ears. At first I thought it was some of Uncle Sam's finest from the 48th Fighter Wing at Lakenheath hurling themselves around the sky but it was definitely the delicate sound of thunder.
The wind began rise and for fifteen minutes I thought the 'big one' had arrived but it simply passed by with not a drop falling on us, but as you can see a shower fell on somebody.
Never mind there's always tomorrow when we are promised some watery action and electric effects, the sun has come out again too.
The early hours of Friday morning and more thunder and lightning accompanied by the sound of rain. The water butts are filling at last and at 07.00 it is still thundering and raining with 94% humidity and 24C to steam the rain off.
      The drought has broken.

  1. John that should ease the pain. Fingers crossed for more.

  2. We've just had the mother of all squalls, all the chilli plants broken and even wood pigeons couldn't fly into the wind and they are fast birds. Weather extremes, frightening conditions. The terriers can wait until tomorrow for a walk
