The short stack is the split flue exhaust from the boiler house, it's a vibrant and very shiny stainless steel and to the naked eye it remains so but on camera on the same day it is quite incredible how the pipe assumes the blue of the sky.
The mirror finish must be the reason but I'm still mystified why, to the naked eye, it still appears like shiny, highly polished stainless steel. Just to muddy the water here it is on a cloudy grey day.
