Dawn and then dusk

Early morning and it's the usual morning routine, back door opened and two Jack Russell Terriers ejected into the chilly morning for a pee and me with a coffee in hand encouraging and making sure they carry out their duties. This morning there was one difference in that I had the camera at the ready to track the dawn's progress to daylight proper.

So here is a sequence of photographs taken over a period of about ten minutes. The first photograph at the very top was taken just as the rising sun, looking very Japanese, makes itself visible through the trees. Then the mist begins to form and at some point it very quickly becomes quite foggy as the sun rises higher.

The last photograph was taken in the late afternoon into early evening when the sky had a distinctly unfriendly look and a real storm appeared to be brewing further east over Norfolk. However the promise of a storm was completely unfulfilled because we never heard any thunder or felt even one drop of rain but somewhere out in Norfolk somebody must have copped the big one at some point during the evening.
