High level trails

Uncle Sam's finest from the 48th Fighter Wing have had a couple of days charging around up in the wide blue sky. Normally they're quite a lot lower and on their way out to Wales, somewhere with mountains, on final approaches or simply flexing their flying skills.
These boys were way higher describing circles with their vapour trails or intersecting lines and crossing lines. No doubt they are continually training and honing their skills and maintaining operational sharpness.
They're part of the landscape here and certainly part of the soundscape as well. The Boss and I love to hear them and to see them, just get down and fly a bit lower please.

  1. John when we were in Maine they used to fly very low over the lakes. It's an awesome sight and the goose bumps were very big.
The Navy had a survival school close by.

  2. WE get them really low sometimes, under 500 feet. Our nephew flies a fast jet, my dad was RAF and we love them. Sometimes we even get a wave or the wings waggled in recognition. WE love to see them low when they rattle the windows. John
