Blossom showing off

The show of blossom in the orchards has been and still is quite fantastic. This cherry tree on the edge of the orchard is absolutely smothered in white blossom, it sits at the south western corner and the farmer says it was planted as a wind break for the commercial fruit trees and as an attractor for pollinating insects. That was a bit of good thinking all those years ago.
We never see or pick any cherries from it because as soon as there is a sign of the fruit forming and maturing the birds, who are in their own breeding season, are on to it for the easy pickings that are available.
The season of plenty is gathering momentum for us and the wildlife.
