The name's Bond, Flemish Bond

In fact these bricks were laid so long ago that I'm not quite sure what the bond is but I've no doubt that an ex-bricklayer will fill in the space for me with an immediate identification. However, as garden walls go this is a cracker, there were hundreds of yards of it beautifully weathered with some fantastic planting in front of it to.
If you were going to have a house with a walled garden and had a little cash to spare this would be the kind of house and garden to buy.

Obviously the boss and I weren't able to fully explore the gardens because they were private but I'll bet that there is a beautiful and virtually un-fished lake somewhere in there complete with reeds and water lilies plus an island, a boathouse and ancient overhanging trees to keep you cool on those roasting hot summer days as you nod off to sleep while watching your stationary float.
Never mind, we can but dream, even if it's only a dream about a dream.
