Swelling and ripening

      The rain, the heat and warm nights in fact perfect conditions for our Brown Turkey figs to mature and provide us with a gourmet tasty treat or two. Since I took this photograph a couple of weeks ago the swelling continues. You could say that the crop is burgeoning, however, nothing is absolutely certain but the development does look promising.
      Now, I like them with honey and creme fraiche others prefer double cream but in truth I'm happy taking them off the tree, slicing with my knife and eating them naked as nature intended. That's the figs in their natural state not me.
      Who knows, maybe in the dead of night?
      No I didn't think so either.
