Cutting through the mustard

A print that I finished this last weekend showing a different Norfolk crop in the Fenland landscape and one that is synonymous with the county, mustard, and in all likelihood the final destination of the billions of seeds is probably the Colmans Mustard factory in Norwich.
The massive field had a drainage dyke running through the middle that was full of rather green water and was spanned by evenly spaced railway sleeper bridges just for foot traffic. The thought of crossing one of the sleeper bridges on a wet day with the wood wonderfully slippery and five or six feet of water underneath  complete with mud and silt on the bottom is not a nice thought should you slip.
The linocut 'Cutting through the mustard' is printed in eleven colours in an edition of ten on 300gsm Madrid Litho White paper.

  1. Sacrilage but I prer Dijon John. Though horseradish and english mustard combine to make a thing of divine beauty.
