It's been raining, it's been pouring

West Norfolk had some serious rain last week, on Tuesday evening we had very noisy thunderstorm that did produce three quarters of an inch of heavy rain in a couple of hours and that was the water butts filled up in double quick time. Even my wheelbarrows were full of water, a bit of a water feature you could say.
Wednesday dawned pleasantly sunny but humid and then in the early evening the skies began to darken and it started to rain with a vengeance. Visibility fell to about twenty five yards or so and it poured with the maximum biblical effect switch turned to maximum. Early Thursday morning and the gauge showed that another another two and a half inches had fallen overnight giving a total of three and quarter inches.
Despite all the rain I'm sure the water companies will be preparing their water shortage excuses, after all you have to be prepared.
