A journey to a jar

Tsar plum jam with plums picked and in the pan in under one hour. I am able to report that it is quite delicious on sourdough toast and washed down with a cup of fresh coffee.
There are still the Victorias, Burbank Giant Prune and Marjorie Seedling to come. Happy days because the season of plenty is well and truly here. what's not to like?

  1. Hi John

    Looking good there those plums......

Unfortunately both the Stanley and Victoria at my dads allotments got hit with bad weather and frost at flowering time so his crops are well down this year, it will have to be bought in plums this summer for us I am afraid!

    Take care

  2. Alistair, sadly the Tsar plums are all wasp food now but the first of the Victorias should be ready next week then the Burbank's followed by the Marjorie Seedling, the best of all. The retired farmer whose orchard we use hates hailstones more than anything because it bruises the green plums and only really shows when they ripen. Take care, ATB, John
