They're large and red

The season of plenty is absolutely romping along now and providing great food from all directions, orchards, gardens greenhouses and hedgerows. The tomatoes are starting to crop and despite our grafted plants being the wrong plants the end product is fantastic, although not so good for making tomato sauce and passata to freeze for use in the winter.

The tomatoes variety is called Belriccio and it has all the promise of being very, very prolific, this example is the size of my and the flesh is absolutely dense. You can have them  sliced and cold or as we had one for lunch yesterday on toasted sourdough that had been rubbed with garlic, Taleggio cheese and lightly grilled again with the tomato on top. Fantastic.

  1. And they're delicious too. I'll sort out a time for a fish, I've completely lost my mojo on the fishing front. John

  2. Sorry to hear about your mojo TT! Mine are just redding up now, gone off piste this year and planted in pots everywhere, need to do some jungle pioneering to find some of them! TTFN, Dickie
