A real autumn windfall

A real root vegetable bonus in the form of the wonderful Jerusalem Artichoke. The Boss and I love them, they're delicious roasted, thinly sliced in a dressing and fantastic as a soup and the real bonus is that we've got about ten plants to work our way through or conversely they've got to work their way through us.

You wouldn't want to serve them to complete strangers or anybody that is a bit of a prude because of the side effects but they'd certainly break the ice at parties, there would certainly be a change of atmosphere and things would be going a bit 'seaside postcard' on the humour front.

The favourite cooking method is roasted with olive oil and fresh thyme, delicious. Try them and enjoy the laughter.
