Last week when we had the snow, frost and freezing fog I saw these two very ripe Bramley apples still hanging on a tree in one of the orchards. How they have managed to resist the onslaught of the winds and the extra weight of ice and snow I don't know but they're still there a week later and getting redder and more seasonal by the day.
If they're still there on the terriers Christmas morning walk I'll take another photograph as a progress report. Hold the front page.
Cancel that, on the Saturday morning walk they had dropped. No sense of timing.
A Lovely picture. How are they after such treatment? Still usable?
ReplyDeleteThe two terriers love them but I'm sure they'd make good apple sauce.
ReplyDeleteJohn you nailed it with those lovely photos of the season.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the comment Alan. the first blizzard we've had for ten years but it was beautiful while it was blowing. Sadly the two apples have dropped because of high winds but they'll feed the birds and ground animals like deer and foxes. My two terriers love them. All the best to you and yours for stay safe and keep posting those lovely streams and rookies. All the best, John
