Skulls in silhouette

 

      Walking the two terriers through farmland and orchards they find 'treasures' that are frequently brought back to you for approval. Fragile skulls and feathers are brought back with no damage at all, Buzzard, Barn and Tawny Owl feathers get the trophy treatment but the skulls are brought back and then unceremoniously dumped in front of you, but still in one piece.

      Minnow was the expert and she gathered the cormorant skull, centre, from the side of a drain and the Crow skull on the left. Barney is responsible for the weathered Rabbit head, and Minnow again for the Blackbird on the right. Lucie, just like Minnow, collects Walnuts and their shells. Just to add to the drama and 'heads on spikes' effect I photographed them on my studio window sill against the sunset last night. All very Hammer Films.
