A little winter warming

Another big job is out of the way for the weekend, just over three cubic yards of logs stacked outside but under the awning. There's a mixed selection of kiln dried ash, alder, silver birch, beech and a little sycamore, fantastic.

The wood stack its four and a half feet deep and thirty-six feet long and hopefully, weather permitting, we won't need to light the wood burner until the beginning of November. I've still got wood in the orchard that needs to be cut up into chords then sawn down and split but this delivery by a friend takes the pressure off little.

The price of this little bit of winter proofing is an aching back but I'm not complaining.
