Early skies and late skies

Just as the season changes the summer jobs around the house are practically finished. Window sills have been re-painted, fences repaired and repainted and the great big gable end wall on the east facing end of the house has been re-painted in a new colour of stone paint.

Needless to say there are still gardening jobs to be completed but all the tomatoes have been picked and preserved as pasatta or sauce for cooking and carefully stored in the freezers for use during the winter and the chillies for the sweet chilli sauce are slowly ripening.

Now when I get up in the morning and propel the two terriers out for a pee I can stand and admire the sunrise and not worry about the weather affecting the tasks that need completing. The brushes and tools are clean so I can stand and watch the sunrise while enjoying my tea or coffee, not that the terriers give a toss about the beauty of the sunrise or sunset.

Anyway here's the pleasures of the last few mornings and evenings and there's only one pleasurable task to complete, that of cleaning, checking and preparing the pike tackle for Friday but first the winter supply of logs needs to be carefully stacked.
