Vampire and Serrano

 

      The Boss has been making sweet chilli sauce with fresh chillies from this years crop and as always we've used our favourite chilli, Serrano, which is plenty hot enough for us but we've added a fruity tasting variant called Vampire to the standard mix.

      Vampire don't fruit up green and turn red, just to be different they are deep purple at the beginning and then turn red.There are only six small jars so far so we'll have to hide them from our son and daughter or they'll all disappear at great speed into someone else's larder, then they'll want even more. The good news is that there are enough chillis left and they're slowly ripening the greenhouses so with a good crop to ripen there's hope for second production in the next week.
