The apples and pears

Spring has definitely sprung although the wind still has a decidedly chilly edge to it, in a sheltered spot it's lovely and warm but in an exposed area there's feel of winter still lurking in the air. The plum blossom has gone but now it's the white pear blossom and and the pink apple blossom that is attracting the bees.

The plum blossom itself was fairly light but the other trees in the orchard, in particular the apples is thick and should guarantee a heavy crop with all the pollinators hard at work in flowers.despite the dry weather and the constant drying wind the land drains are still carrying water into the dykes. This one is six feet beneath the surface of the field but it is still running, although it is a reduced volume to that of three weeks ago.
